A motorcyclist was killed over the weekend in Brattleboro, Vermont and an online fundraiser has begun to raise money for his family. During the 4th of July Holiday Weekend on Sunday, 29-year old Gregory Nichols of Bellows Falls was traveling on Canal Street on a motorcycle when he collided with a motor vehicle.
Police say they responded to the scene around 4:45 PM and found that Nichols had died as a result of the collision. Police withheld his identity until family members were notified and the driver of the car has been identified as 40-year old Noreen Woodruff of Guilford, Vermont.
Since the accident, a GoFundMe page was set up to help support the family of Nichols. In just three days, 88 people have raised over $4,000, all towards the goal of $5000.
The note describing the fundraiser says that Nichols leaves behind three children, a stepson, his wife, and other family members. Two of his children were in a car near him when the accident occurred and witnessed the crash.
The accident is still under investigation by Brattleboro Police.
