Wednesday, the Hanover Marauders hosted the Goffstown Grizzlies for the quarter-finals of the NHIAA girls lacrosse state tournament.
The second seeded Hanover Marauders coming in with a regular season record of 12 and 5, were able to learn a new offense this week in an attempt to take down the seventh seeded Goffstown Grizzlies. The Marauders were able to master this new game plan as their offense thrived. Their defense also played very well, allowing just 3 goals.
By the end of the game Hanover had won decisively 19 to 3 and was able to kill off the clock. Maddie Lyons was able to score three goals, the second of which was her 100th career point playing for Hanover.
Marauder’s head coach Chris Seibel and Maddie Lyons spoke to YCN after the victory.
Hanover will go on to play third ranked Windham for Saturday’s 5pm semifinal game at Exeter’s Bill Ball Stadium.
