Thursday morning at 10 AM, at the Newbury Town Offices, Commissioner Rose of the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED) presented the final plans for Mt. Sunapee’s West Bowl expansion, set to go in front the Governor’s Council on March 23rd, next Wednesday.
Some smaller parts have yet to be approved, but as a whole, the plan sets up guidelines and logistics of the expansion. Members of the public attended Thursday morning’s presentation but were not allowed to comment, as it was not a public hearing, which had already taken place in 2015.
If approved, the plan would not start anytime soon, as an environmental study still needs to take place and concerned residents may continue to fight the development.
As we have for all of 2015 and into this year, YCN will continue to follow this story as it develops.
