Mud Season Strikes Area Roads Early with Warm Weather

Mud season has begun early with the recent temperatures and town road crews are actively trying to keep the roads in good shape. In Sunapee, the Sunapee Highway department laid down crushed stone on Mary’s Road last Friday as an early thaw turned the dirt road to mud.

The Sunapee Police Department issued a warning via email on Friday about driving on all dirt roads in Sunapee now that the ground is beginning to thaw out and to avoid driving on Mary’s Road until repairs are made to the road.

Further north in Plainfield, crews laid out fresh dirt and graded it over the especially muddy sections on the town’s numerous dirt roads.

Here’s our reminder to take it slow on those dirt roads to avoid any real damage to your vehicle.
