The Lebanon Police Department is taking advantage of the growing trend of community engagement in New Hampshire and throughout the nation by hosting its first Coffee with a Cop event next month.
According to a press release issued Thursday afternoon, the department will host the event March 1 at 8 a.m. at the Fort Restaurant on Heater Road, with any Lebanon resident encouraged to attend.
Officers say the intent of the program is to provide people with an opportunity to discuss community issues and build relationships with local law enforcement officers.
Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative created by the United State Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
Several other communities in the area host similar events, including both the Sunapee and Charlestown police departments.
The event is free to attend, and anyone with questions is encouraged to contact Lebanon Police Capt. Tim Cohen at 603-448-8800.
