The Newport Area Chamber of Commerce held its 52nd annual meeting and dinner at the Newport Opera House Thursday. After social hour and dinner catered by The Old Courthouse Restaurant, the business portion of the meeting convened with elections.
Those elected include the president of the Executive Board Donna Mahair, vice president Bob Saidon, second vice president Janice McMahon, treasurer Beth Pitkin, secretary Beth McAllister, and Executive Director Ella M. Casey.
Also elected were directors for one, two, and three year terms. The Newport Chamber then awarded Newport High School Students Jeremy Dewey and Katrina Batista Student Achievement Awards followed by the Distinguished Citizen of the Year award given to 95 year old Lilyan Wright from Goshen.
