The New London Winter Carnival was in full swing with many activities both Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. Friday started off with a magic show at the Whipple Town Hall where Markus and Angelique Steelgrave, from Maine, entertained a sold out audience of children and adults with their many magic tricks and illusions.
On Friday evening, area residents were treated to the sold out Jack Frost Progressive dinner that featured culinary treats from area restaurants. On Saturday, the Winter Carnival began the day with a farmers market in Whipple Hall followed by a scavenger hunt, and a hot chocolate bar provided by New London Hospital.
The New London Rotary Club provided hot dogs and hamburgers all day and the always popular ski joring demonstration was held on the Sargent Common early in the afternoon.
The New London Winter Carnival ended with a bang you might say, with s’mores and fireworks behind the old middle school.
