A NH state trooper was taken to the hospital with minor injuries Tuesday night after his vehicle was rear-ended by a tractor trailer on Interstate 89.
According to the police report, the trooper was pulled over on the side of the highway in Warner shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday night to assist a driver who had gone off the road.
While sitting in his cruiser with its emergency lights on, his vehicle was struck by the truck and was pushed more than 250 feet down the road. The truck driver initially slowed down and pulled into the breakdown lane, but quickly fled the scene before additional crews arrived.
The trooper was transported to Concord Hospital with what was described as minor injuries. The tractor trailer is described as having Canadian registration with a dark-colored cab, and possibly a sleeper.
