A sad story out of Warner, New Hampshire as an 87-year-old woman was found dead along an unmaintained road Thursday night by a passing motorist.
Police say the unidentified woman was found on Bear Pond Road, some 300 feet away from an unoccupied car stuck on a rock. Police say the death does not appear to be suspicious as it’s believed the woman’s car got stuck, and when she went looking for help, was injured and eventually died.
The woman is said to be from Center Ossipee, New Hampshire, though authorities are withholding her identity until family can be notified. Bear Pond Road is a hilly Class 6 roadway, meaning it is not maintained by town or state crews.
It’s not yet known how long the woman was outside before her body was discovered, and an autopsy to determine her cause of death was scheduled for Friday.
