Monday may have marked the first day back to reality for students after their Holiday breaks, but there was still plenty of action on the ice and basketball courts this past weekend.
The Kearsarge-Plymouth hockey team improved to 2-1 on the season Saturday in their first year as a co-op program. The ‘Cats as they’re called, combing the Cougars and Bobcats, benefited on goals from Bert Prince and Jacob Arnold to edge another co-op program in Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough.
The Lebanon boys hockey team also fought its way to a win Saturday with help from a 26-save effort from Chad Fazio in net, while the Hanover girls improved to 4-0 with another two touchdown effort in their win over Oyster River.
The Brattleboro girls were also victorious Saturday, battling back to beat Hartford thanks to three unanswered scores.
On the hardwood, KJ Matte netted 24 points including six 3-pointers to lead Lebanon to a comfortable win over Goffstown, while the Windsor girls improved to 4-2 with help from a well-balanced offensive effort.
Joslin Wainwright led the Lebanon girls past Pembroke behind an 11-point effort, and Hanover improved to 2-1 on the season with a 12-point victory over Bishop Brady. Silke Milliman led the Marauders with a game-high 14 points.
