Claremont Prepped for First Night Festivities

Organizers of Claremont’s First Night festivities received a welcomed gift in the form of Tuesday’s winter storm as natural snowfall will make tubing conditions that much better at the Arrowhead Recreation Area.

As a reminder, festivities will kickoff at 6 p.m. Thursday night with tubing at Arrowhead, and open swim, gym and laser tag right across the street at the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center.

Free bowling will be offered at Maple Lanes from 9:30 until midnight, and local magician Dylan Tenney will perform a pair of shows at the community center at 6:15 and 8:45 p.m.

A fireworks show will be held at 10 overlooking Arrowhead, and will be televised live by CCTV.

Claremont-Sugar River Rotary Club member Allyn Girard said in a press release that “local businesses have been very supportive of this event and seem excited to bring a New Year’s Eve celebration back to Claremont.”
