Warm Weather Hampering Winter Activities

Though some winter sports may be in full swing, some of those more traditional winter activities have been put on hold due to seasonably-warm temperatures in the region.

Lack of cold weather and natural snow has made conditions difficult for skiing, sledding and ice skating, as shown in our footage of the ice rink in Sunapee shot Tuesday.

On the slopes, area resorts like Mount Sunapee, Ragged Mountain and Pats Peak all are closed at the moment as they wait for colder weather in order to resume making snow. Ragged plans to open up again on Friday, with Pats Peak opening Saturday and Mount Sunapee Resort reopening on Sunday.

The Sunapee High School ski team was out playing frisbee in shorts and tee shirts yesterday as they wait for winter to come so they can prepare for upcoming meets.
