Springfield Hospital in Springfield Vermont has joined a network with other New England states.
Hospitals in Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont announced last week that they have joined New Hampshire’s Blue Cross and Blue Shield network as part of Anthem’s Pathway Network. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is a smaller subsidiary of Anthem Incorporated, which is a health insurance giant with almost a million customers.
Springfield Hospital and the other hospitals that joined the Pathway Network means that customers under Affordable Care Act qualified plans will have increased access outside of New Hampshire’s borders.
The Pathway Network covers most of New Hampshire, reaching 21 out of the Granite State’s total 26 hospitals with total coverage of all 10 counties.
The New Hampshire Anthem Network offers health benefit plans that are priced roughly 30 percent lower than using a plan on the broader national network.
