Following up on a story we brought you earlier this month as state and federal officials say they’re still searching for a 31-year-old Weatherfield man suspected of robbing the Mascoma Savings Bank in Charlestown.
According to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service, Matthew Martin has been labeled the “fugitive of the week” for his alleged involvement in bank robberies in both New Hampshire and Vermont.
On the day the Mascoma Savings Bank was robbed in Charlestown, Martin was supposed to have been sentenced to prison in Vermont for his role in two bank robberies in Springfield. He’s also suspected in robbing a TD Bank in Loudon, New Hampshire just last Friday.
Martin showed a firearm in both robberies, and made out with an undisclosed amount of money. He’s described as being in his mid to late 20s, and between 5-and 6-feet tall.
