Alleged Getaway Vehicle in Bank Robbery Found

Now following up on a story we first brought you Wednesday, as authorities believe they’ve found the getaway vehicle used by a man who robbed the Mascoma Savings Bank in Charlestown Tuesday afternoon.

According to New Hampshire State Police, an abandoned vehicle with its license plates was found somewhere in Springfield, though authorities won’t release exactly where it was found, or the vehicle’s make or model.

Police say they’ve contacted the owner of the vehicle, who they don’t believe to be involved, and the individual is cooperating with their investigation. The Main Street bank was robbed shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, by the individual seen in the surveillance photo described as being between 20 and 30-years-old, and about 130 pounds.

The man displayed a firearm, and made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Once again, anyone with information regarding the robbery is encouraged to call New Hampshire State Police at (603) 358-3333.
