A Dartmouth College English Professor was in federal court earlier this month to plead not guilty to a felony charge of possessing child pornography in his Plainfield home.
49-year-old J. Martin Favor initially faced charges in Sullivan County Superior Court stemming from his Sept. 3rd arrest, but those charges were dropped when the case was picked up at the federal level. State and federal investigators executed a warrant as Favor’s home in September, and uncovered several videos depicting children engaging in sexual acts.
Favor entered his most recent plea at the U.S. District Court in Concord, and was released afterward on the conditions he has no unsupervised contact with minors, and continues counseling with a New Hampshire-based sex therapist.
He’s scheduled to appear back in court Dec. 29, with a two-week trial slated to begin Jan. 5. Favor has worked at Dartmouth for 22 years, and remains on paid administrative leave.
