A story of hope for animal lovers all across the region, quite literally, as a dog named Hope has been recovering well since being found in starving condition last week.
On Thursday morning, the pit-bull mix was found abandoned and near death by the side of the railroad tracks here in Claremont, reportedly being only an hour from dying. Cathy Sullivan of Lost My Way Animal Shelter has said that the dog was possibly left there to die by someone. Who that someone may be remains under investigation tonight, as authorities say that they are unsure if the dog was abused or neglected.
Hope has been in the animal shelter’s care since she was discovered and has been recovering since then. If you’d like to help fund Hope’s recovery and rehabilitation, you can visit the GoFundMe page set up for her care here.
In the meantime, Claremont police are trying to find who is responsible for the animal abuse or neglect and is seeking your help. If you know anything, you are urged to contact them at 603-542-9538.
