A 44-year-old Randolph man was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a single-car accident on Route 14 in West Hartford Tuesday night.
According to Hartford Police, Norman Byam exited the vehicle on his own after striking power lines near the West Hartford Public Library, and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Portions of Route 14 were closed for approximately two hours after the accident while crews worked to restore power to nearby homes.
Hartford Police say the cause into the crash remains under investigation, and that it is not yet known if speed or alcohol were contributing factors. Charges are pending, however, as Byam is alleged to have been driving with a suspended license.
