In regards to the proposed solar farm in Windsor Vermont, the town’s selectboard received vocal concerns from opposition group Protect Your Land. The selectboard avoided taking either side of the argument and instead promised that they would continue to look out for the town’s concerns.
To recap, the proposed 19,000 panel farm would sit on state land behind the Southeast State Correctional Facility and would be the largest in the state. The project is being spearheaded by Green Mountain Power and once completed, would be handed over from the Department of Buildings and General Services to Vermont Fish and Wildlife.
If approved, the site would be the largest in the state and to date, Windsor town officials have continued to express indifference on the site’s development, which is currently on hold by Green Mountain Power as they try to analyze moving the project forward in light of widespread criticism.
