A 26-year-old White River Junction woman was arrested Tuesday on charges she stole an undisclosed amount of money from a local clothing store where she was employed.
According to the Claremont Police Department, officers arrested Samantha McClay with the assistance of Lebanon Police on one charge of felony-level theft by unauthorized taking.
Claremont Police first became aware of a large theft at the Hubert’s Family Outfitters on Washington Street back in July, and learned in its investigation that money had been taken from the business during different times over the course of a year.
Hubert’s – which has seven locations located throughout New Hampshire – did not disclose the amount of money taken, though it was confirmed that McClay hasn’t worked at the company in several months.
McClay was arrested yesterday morning without incident, and was released on bail pending her arraignment in the 5th Circuit Court-Claremont District scheduled for December 28th.
