A 33-year-old Claremont man was indicted on a single felony sex assault charge in a connection with a 2012 incident that took place in nearby Lebanon.
Matthew Clark was indicted by a Grafton County grand jury late last week on allegations he asked a female under the age of 13 to touch his genitals. When the girl refused, Clark was accused of grabbing her wrist and attempting to force her into the act. He was arrested by Claremont Police back in July and charged with felonious sexual assault by forcible fondling.
Clark is already registered on the American sex offenders registry in connection with a 2001 incident also involving a minor.
According to americansexoffender.com, that offense took place in Florida before Clark’s eventual move to Claremont. Clark is currently being held at the Grafton County House of Corrections in North Haverhill on $10,000-dollar cash bail, pending his November 9 arraignment.
