Bellows Falls Approves Guest Parking Permits for Non-Residents

Renters in Bellows Falls, Vermont were granted a big break Tuesday night as Village trustees voted in favor of allowing non-residents the ability to purchase year-round guest parking permits for $80.

Renters or seasonal visitors were previously forced to pay $10 per month for passes to park on the town’s streets or lots, which proved to be a hassle for both renters and town officials alike.

Trustees voted in favor of the measure by a 3-to-1 margin, giving the proposal its final seal of approval after having already passed through the Rockingham joint selectboard late last month.

An original proposal had called for the passes to be sold for $60 – half of the $120 value of the current price – though the joint selectboard increase that fee by $20. Revenue raised from parking permits will be split between the town of Rockingham and the village of Bellows Falls.
