A Charlestown, New Hampshire woman is behind bars after she was found possessing heroin while fleeing from police late last week.
According to a police report, 33-year-old Amber Harmon was the passenger in a stolen vehicle being pursued by cruisers from both the Charlestown and Springfield police departments last Friday evening. When the vehicle became disabled, Harmon ran, but was quickly apprehended by police. Officers found heroin on Harmon – who was already wanted on an outstanding warrant – and promptly charged her with possession of heroin and possession of stolen property.
Harmon – who has a lengthy criminal record including multiple arrests – is currently being held at the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield, Vermont pending her arraignment in Windsor Criminal Court on November 11th.
No information was made available as to the driver of the stolen vehicle or the charges he or she will face.
