Veteran Affairs Regional Benefits Office Moves Back to White River Junction

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION – The VA’s Regional Benefits Office located on Etna Road in Lebanon closed its doors for good Friday while employees prepare to move back to their former location in White River Junction.

The office had been located in Lebanon for the past three years to accommodate the VA Medical Center’s $3.2 million dollar renovations completed earlier this summer. According to a press release, VA officials say the change will prevent Vermont veterans from having to commute across state lines into New Hampshire, and will “restore a single point of access.”

The new layout will maximize space for new computer systems that should help speed up the process of submitting veterans’ claims.

The Benefits Office will remain closed through Columbus Day weekend, before reopening at its new location on 215 Main Street on Tuesday.  In the meantime, veterans and their dependents needing service are encouraged to call 800-827-1000, or visit the VA’s website.
