SUNAPEE – According to reports from the Union Leader a man was chased through the woods by local police after he crashed his truck on Route 103 in Sunapee. This happened Monday night and into early Tuesday morning.
The truck struck a wire guard rail and took out six or seven posts. The police searched the vehicle before it was towed and found evidence that the driver had been drinking as well as signs of alcohol in the form of alcohol containers.
Police do not know if the driver was injured in the crash and state police dogs were brought in to help in searching for the man but the dogs lost his sent in the swamp.
Police have the identity of the driver of the truck from the license plate and are currently still trying to track down the driver. Both the State Police K-9 unit and the New London police department are assisted in the search.
