It was something out of a scene from a video game Friday night, as a stolen car driven by an unidentified minor led police on a chase through two states before finally ending after a collision with officers.
Vermont State Police said in a press release they had attempted to pass the 2007 Chevy Cobalt while responding to a call in Royalton, Vermont shortly before 11 p.m., but the vehicle accelerated away from their cruisers and began driving erratically.
Officers then pursued the vehicle south along route 14 and onto Interstate 89, where it eventually exited the highway in West Lebanon and sped through several parking lots. After driving off the roadway and through a fence, cruisers from the Royalton and Lebanon police departments were able to box the vehicle in, and arrest the minor.
According to the Valley News, the boy is 15-years-old and could face charges of operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, felony attempting to elude, and negligent operation.
