Area Students Head to Mt. Sunapee Resort to Learn About Water

SUNAPEE – Over two hundred and fifty 5th grade students from the various schools around the region came to the Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury for Watershed Discovery Day Thursday. Students came from the Kearsarge School District, Sunapee Central Elementary School, Towle School in Newport, and Mount Royal Academy in Sunapee.

After a morning group exercise, students went outside and learned many aspects of water including the history of water use,testing water quality, looking at water insects, the water cycle, water erosion and making water filters.

The Lake Sunapee Protective Association organized the classes and was a sponsor of the classes along with Wellborn Ecology Fund and Mount Sunapee Resort.
