Shifting over to New Hampshire news now, it’s only been a week since the filing period opened for residents seeking to become Claremont’s next mayor, but the field has already climbed to four candidates. I
ncumbent Mayor Jim Nielsen officially filed to run for what would be his second consecutive two-year term Wednesday, joining Claremont resident A.J. Maranville, and city councilors Charlene Lovett and Kyle Messier as the city’s four mayoral choices so far. If your not happy with those options, consider a run for yourself!
Filing is open to any of Claremont’s registered voters at a fee of just $1 dollar, but entries must be received by 5 o’clock tomorrow evening.
Claremont’s municipal elections – which includes voting for mayor, assistant mayor and city council – will be held in November.
