Kearsarge Field Hockey Works Field For Tuesday Night Win

The year didn’t start too hot for the Kearsarge field hockey team with losses in three of its first four games, but the Cougars have been on a roll of late, including Tuesday’s one-sided win over John Stark.

And Coach Dianne Chadwick’s team didn’t take long to establish their dominance, shooting its way to a convincing 4-0 halftime lead and an eventual 5-0 victory. The Cougars posted an impressive 14 shots on goals during the game’s first 30 minutes alone, before adding another three in the second half.

Junior forward Devi Krashauer led Kearsarge scorers with three scores – all in the first half – while senior Ellie Chadwick also scored before halftime.

Senior midfield Mary Devir rounded out the game’s scoring midway through the second, giving the team its second-highest goal total since its 9-0 win over Franklin in its opener.

Mike Pezone spoke with Krashauer after the game, who talked about what her team needs to do to improve going forward.

Mike also spoke with Kearsarge coach Dianne Chadwick, who echoed those thoughts, and added that she’s been happy with her team’s progress so far.

The Cougars will try and improve to 5-3 on Saturday when they travel to face Merrimack Valley.
