Now that temperatures are getting a little cooler out there – especially overnight – officials over in Springfield, Vermont are gearing up for another year of helping the city’s homeless.
The Springfield Warming Shelter, which first opened its doors in January of last year, will open for its third season beginning November 15. The shelter is located at the North Springfield Baptist Church on Main Street, and will be open seven days a week from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
Guests are admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis, and can stay as long as beds remain available. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer or donating to the facility is encouraged to contact shelter manager Paul Cioffi at (802) 886-8107.
