Serious Accident on Route 11 in Sunapee Leaves Two in Hospital

Motorists traveling through Route 11 in Sunapee late Friday morning faced delays after a two-car accident forced officials to close one lane of the roadway.

Sunapee Police Chief David Cahill told YCN News the accident took place shortly before 11:30 this morning, when a vehicle traveling westbound crossed over the centerline and struck another vehicle traveling east. Both vehicle received extensive damage, and the two drivers were transported to New London Hospital for treatment. Cahill said the identities of the victims are not being released until family is notified, though he did say both parties were alert and responsive at the scene.
