With the plans for the Windsor, Vermont proposed solar site currently at a standstill, another solar developer is eyeing ground in the state. New York City developer, Ranger Solar, which has an office in Manhattan aims to bring solar renewable energy to the New England area.
The company is planning four farms across the Green Mountain State that individually would be 10 times larger than any existing farm in the state.
Each would be a 20-megawatt site, which to put in perspective, is five times more than the proposed Windsor site, which would be 4.25 megawatts.
If built, each of the sites would be managed by four separate entities. Vermont Digger reports that state officials are worried the total energy would be too much for the state’s infrastructure to handle reliably.
